Technology has changed the phase of business and especially marketing. Gone are the days where marketing was mostly offline and traditional methods were used. Printing press

Initially, people relied on printed media for information. The printed media was handwritten; this made the process long and less efficient as well as very expensive. The printed press was written before being distributed to readers. This was inefficient because in some cases it may not capture the right readers hence if you are advertising some potential customers may not get to know about your products. With the changing technology, this has become way easier and efficient and it is way easier to target the specific niches even though it is through printed media.

Mail

Initially, emails were mainly for personal communication or formal communication in formal setting, this has however changed as now email is also used for marketing. Email marketing is one of the successful marketing methods used; customers can get to know about your products and can get a timely newsletter about the company. This can be used for building relationships.

Social Media

Initially the main social media was word of mouth. That was the main social media used to advertise. Now there are many social media sites that have made a world a global village, and one can sell products to anyone anywhere. It is also easy and cheap to advertise products.

Video and audio recording

Initially video and audio recording was only for radio, then it advanced to TV and now it can be done on social media channels such as YouTube and online radios. It is therefore easier to advertise through that and reach a bigger audience.

Website ads

Initially websites did not have ads but now you can advertise whatever you want on other websites and still be able to reach the right audience. There is rise of affiliate marketing and many online marketing strategies.

Conclusion

Technology has clearly changes the face of marketing. Even though marketing is mostly online, to be successful you have to create a campaign and then launch it in the right way to get the right attention. Everything is all about strategy including online advertising. With a good marketing plan and strategy then success is achievable.  As much as technology has changed everything, the old conventional advertisements are still being used and are equally effective. There is an audience that is captured by every advertising method and thus there is no method that is necessarily better than others. They are all relatively the same.
