Technical Analyst – Google Apps Deployment Engineer

We create cutting edge custom software, IT and web solutions for a long roster of premiere clients. SheepDog was selected as one of Google’s first ten Enterprise Partners for Google Apps at its launch in 2007 and since then have become one of the industry leaders in that space.
Position:
The primary role of the successful candidate will be to design and execute effective migration plans for our Google Apps clients. We are looking for an experienced mid-level developer/ engineer who loves Cloud Computing, and has an understanding of systems and platforms, to assist us in implementing Google Apps, Google App Engine for our clients worldwide. This key role requires expert knowledge in deployment strategies for a wide variety of enterprise class business communication networks.
Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Computer Science or the successful completion of an Information Technology program plus 4+ years related experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Effective communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in business systems analysis and systems development life cycle methodology is required. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting web based applications and following proper support/escalation to efficiently resolve incoming issues.

Technical Knowledge (preffered):
- OSX, Windows XP/7, Windows 2003/8 Server administration and configuration.
- Understanding of windows network services (DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc…)
- Understanding of various records required for mail routing and DNS verification. (SPF, MX, CNAME)
- Configuration of mail routing for various platforms and clients. (Exchange, Lotus Notes and Groupwise)
- Microsoft Office 2003/7, Exchange 2003/7, Novell Groupwise, Lotus Notes server administration and configuration.
- Active Directory administration, (AD scripting would be an asset), Lotus Domino Designer (asset) Novell ConsoleOne (asset)
- Familiarity with high-level languages; especially Perl, Python, UNIX shell or Java would be an asset.
- Provide input for change control measures and direction on data migration strategies to production.
- Provide on-call after hours support for critical systems.
- Occasional scheduled after hours and weekend work.
- 1 year of Technical/Service Desk Application Support
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly self motivated and directed.

Project Manager / Account Manager
Bayer’s Lake Park, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Position:
The successful candiate will be working closely with our clients and our developers to ensure the work we deliver surpasses our clients expectations. The role is not a traditional one that you may be familiar with as compared to how PMI defines PM. We prefer Agile methods to deliver more value to our clients. The role is best defined as a mixture of Account Management and Project Management.
Primary Duties include the following:
- The ability to manage clients expectations
- The ability to motivate folks who are in technical delivery roles
- Ensure delivery of project milestones on time and on budget
- Identify opportunities to expand the project during the development phase
- Assist in pursuing new sales leads once they have been qualified by our sales staff
- Test/QA projects
- Light travel may be required at times

Jr. Programmer / Analyst

Position:

The ideal candidate will be very energetic, creative, enthusiastic, intelligent, analytical, and eager to take on responsibility and learn new skills. She/he will enjoy working in a fast-paced and agile organization, and creating an exciting, fun, teamwork-oriented environment. We are looking for those who want to grow with SheepDog, and are in this for the long term.

- Write code (Java, Python, and some PHP)
- Document code
- Have your code be reviewed and critiqued in a open and challenging way
- Test/QA projects
- Take direction from, and work closely with senior developers and project managers
- Embrace Agile methodology and SCRUM

Software Engineer – Google Apps Engine Developer

You Would Be Great For This Position If You Have:
- Google App Engine experience
- Google Apps API experience
- Familiarity with MVP & Command View an asset
- Familiarity with Spring framework an asset
- Development with Android OS / SDK
- 3+ years experience with Agile software development process
- Experience in Agile software development and maintenance practices & methodologies
- Awareness of code efficiencies such as the reuse of common modules and identifies opportunities for request consolidation and/or re-usability
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in helping develop mission-critical web based systems
